Fuckers are taking Fungus off the air for a 24 hour AC/DC channel. Now I happen to like AC/DC but I don't think we need a 24 hour channel of then in place of the great Fungus channel. Fucking awful. Fungus better come back or I'm torching my radios on youtube.
this reminds me of ash and his liquid metal fetish.
So they're taking their one punk channel off the air to do another channel dedicated to a single artist and this makes sense how?
Money. All these short-term artist-dedicated channels are pretty much payola channels from the record company to create infomercials for the artist.
Michael Jackson, Coldplay, Metallica, AC/DC - all have new albums coming/came out, and the dedicated channels help sales (in theory)
Sadly, there's not much punk money coming in.
Although it doesn't make sense - surely there's another station they can pull off to put this up.
They're even playing the new AC/DC single on Squizz. One of the DJ's did an informal poll if it should be played on the Squizz channel. Of course, the majority said yes.
the XmLed channel 59 is sitting empty I'm sure they could have used that but because of the bandwidth issues with the Sirius channels coming over a music channel had to go for the AC/DC channel to work. Fungus listeners got fucked in this one. It's a shame because it was the number 2 reason I picked XM because I enjoyed having a place to listen to Desdecdents, Buzzcocks, Clash, Social D, Bad Religion, Less Than Jake, etc and it's going to suck not having that channel around. Sirius from what I gather is also killing it's punk channel for AC/DC so it's not just us XM punks getting the big cock up the ass.
Oh and I'm not trashing AC/DC at all. I happen to like the band alot. Seem them twice live and I wear AC/DC pajama bottoms to bed at night. I'm just going to miss my Fungus 53. Sorry to be a whiney bitch to all you fuckers.
this is part of the reason this merger shit is so bad. this is a very sirius move and XM never really did this crap till the merger was on the way. 1 artist channels are a total waste. let the idiots have their elvis and jimmy buffett channels and i'll be happy to go back to the nice mix of different music that XM used to have.
I would think that the artist probably also pays the company a nice piece of coin to have a station that's essentially branded "their" station for a few weeks or whatever - the company needs $$, so it's win/win.
The Metallica and AC/DC moves come right when they're gonna release new albums so its more or less plugola.
Oh, i'm sorry, I was confused by the title of this thread ..I guess I can take the Inno off my lap now!
